Yes they at times will make a HUGE mess and other times they are so clean. It's really dependant on their mood that day, make sense?
We use Aquafresh so it's SO easy for the girls to push the pump and put only a little on their brush. If I give them a tube, oh goodness it'd be a nightmare. When they do make a huge mess, they are to clean it all up. That enjoyment of making fun of toothbrushing all over the mirror and the sink and all over their faces stopped very quickly after they learned that I wasn't cleaning it up. I followed my girls around helping with their chores for the first couple weeks. Just so they felt like what they were doing was SOOO important when they finally did it on their own. I love having our children HELP with the family. Our saying in the home is you are part of this family and you will help maintain the family. For our family having the kids have responsibilities and a set schedule they show far more respect.
