My current WIP is this lovely drop stitch scarf. The pattern is easy, goes quickly, and shows off the yarn beautifully.
I am doing it in Sugar and Cream cotton yarn in the 'Jewel' colorway. I also have a sewing project, I need to applique a dress for Vivienne for Easter. After that, I am going to knit a lot of sweaters! I want to do one for each of my kids for the fall, but I'm not sure how much knitting time I will have after baby is born, so I want to get all/most of the work done before then. I just need to choose a pattern that will work for them. I'm thinking Viv's, Pete's and Todd's will all be the same pattern, and I'll do a different one for the babe. My sleep sack was the biggest project I'd done yet, and sweaters will involve more complicated seam work than I've done, but I'm not too worried yet. |

That is just beautiful Diana.
I have been writing, not sewing much lately. I might get something done this month.

I'm working on Easter gifts. I finished DD3's gift, a small crochet market bag on Tuesday and started DD1's yesterday. DD1 will be getting a shawl made with a hefty blue yarn. Though I'll have to either get more of that color or change to a different color to finish as I'm running out! LOL
DS will be getting a stuffed toy of some kind and DD2... hmm, not sure yet.

Today I finished a couple wipes, four unpaper towels and a large fitted. I have a whole basket of projects cut out and ready to go that have been sitting there for, well some for a year.
I wrote a short for submission. It's for a themed edition- Self. It's something that I struggle with often. Defining myself outside my role as a mother because I know that some day the kids will be grown and gone and if I am nothing more than a mother, then I will be nothing. Anywho, writing is my craft, lol.

I got almost two feet done on my scarf, put it aside to work on a bunny blankey toy for a baby shower next Tuesday. I'm working with the Homespun yarn, and I like it a whole lot better than when I used it for my first project. Using the needles the yarn calls for makes it knit up much nicer (not to mention having experience knitting!
I'm over halfway through on the bunny, started it yesterday, so hopefully will finish it up in the next day or two.

Got the bunny done!
hereAnd I am happy because I think I found the solution to my sweater dilemma! I have been wanting to do sweaters for my kids but haven't been able to find a pattern that I like. But I was looking on amazon and found this book: http://www.amazon.com/Knitters-Handy...=ATVPDKIKX0DER that shows how to design patterns with any weight yarn to your desired specifications (from sizes toddler to adult, with different sleeve styles, neck styles, etc). Now I am very impatiently awaiting my latest two amazon GC's to come through from swagbucks. I thought they did it on the 16th and 30th of each month, but I guess not. I want the book now so I can get started, maybe I should just get a used copy and use the GC's for something else.My scarf is coming along nicely, 34 inches now. I'm going to go until I run out of yarn. I really really love this yarn, and looking around online, I found there are some really pretty colorways. Great selection for yarn that is relatively cheap. http://www.sugarncream.com/product.p...ncream&SPP=999 |
